The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @The Caffeinated Book Reviewer It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. Here is what I have been up to this last week.
WHAT I WATCHED
I enjoyed this movie. It was a bit slower than I expected but still a great movie. There were some very tense moments when the astronauts were training and taking off into space. A definite movie to see if you are a space fan.
The finale of the Great American Read is Tuesday, October 23rd. I can’t wait to see which book won. Did you vote?
CURRENTLY READING
Loving this book about a girl who escapes from a religious cult.
I am curious if this is going to be the last book of the series! I can’t tell yet but I still love the premise of this story.
Saturday Situation is put on by Pure Imagination. It is were we review our latest reads. Be sure to check out theirs as well.
Back in May, I decided to start listening to the Harry Potter books on CD while I commuted to work. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed them. My family even listened along with me every once in awhile. I forgot how many wonderful and funny moment were left out of the movies. I finished the last CD of the last book this week. I think I am going to do this again next year. Have you listened to the HP books on audiobook?
Stacking the Shelves is put on by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves. Here are the books I have added to my TBR list this week.
My UK version of The Tales of Beetle the Bard came in this week. I opted for the UK version because I liked the illustrations more. But don’t be surprised if you eventually see the US version on my Stacking the Shelves lol.
I received this from First To Read.
Book Blurb
Marian Engström has found her true calling: working with rescue dogs to help protect endangered wildlife. Her first assignment takes her to northern Alberta, where she falls in love with her mentor, the daring and brilliant Tate. After they’re separated from each other on another assignment, Marian is shattered to learn of Tate’s tragic death. Worse still is the aftermath in which Marian discovers disturbing inconsistencies about Tate’s life, and begins to wonder if the man she loved could have been responsible for the unsolved murders of at least four women.
Hoping to clear Tate’s name, Marian reaches out to a retired forensic profiler who’s haunted by the open cases. But as Marian relives her relationship with Tate and circles ever closer to the truth, evil stalks her every move.
The Book Blogger Hop is put on by The Coffee Addicted Writer . There is a weekly prompt featuring a book related question.
THIS WEEK’S QUESTION IS SUBMITTED BY Michelle @ Life Among the Pages.
This weeks prompt is…
If you were to dress up as a literary figure (author or character) for Halloween, who would it be?
My answer…
I loved the Pippi Longstocking books as a kid and we had a dress up day in school as our favorite character and I choose Laura Ingalls but one of my friends chose Pippi. Her mom had braided her hair and put wires in them so they would stick out just like Pippi’s. I remember thinking that was so cool! I think it would be fun to try that now that my hair is long enough. And wearing mismatched clothing is fun too.
AWW! I love your answer for this week’s Book Blogger Hop! I absolutely loved Pippi as a kid and I still do. Amazing answer! Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend 🙂

Ooh I have After the Fire too. And for some reason I thought The First Man was a series? Urgh I’m dumb lol.

I would totally watch a series on the race to the moon. John Glenn wasn’t even mentioned in this movie. It was all about Armstrong which was fine but I know there were so many other things going on in the program.

I have been considering seeing First Man. I am very curious about the movie and love Ryan Gosling so, can’t really go wrong. I have never listened to an audio book before. Maybe a good place to start would be with Harry Potter since I have such a love for that series. I hope you have a good weekend!

I am a huge Ryan Gosling fan too. He is excellent in the movie. I highly recommend listening to the HP books on audio book. I didn’t think I would like it but I enjoyed it very much and plan to listen to them again next year.

Hi, I’m coming from The Sunday Post. Yes I have listened to the entire Harry Potter on audio narrated by Jim Dale. Back when I was marathoning the books, I was able to listen to the corresponding audio on youtube for free.
I also think Pipi Longstocking would be cute to dress up as.

The First Man looks good. I do enjoy space themed movies. 🚀
As you know, I did start listening to the audios of HP, but I don’t care for the narrator we have for the American market audiobooks, but I suppose I’ll get used to him. 😝
I think I like the US edition of Beedle the Bard just a tad more, but like you, I will probably end up with both editions. 👍✨
I am surprised that you still didn’t want to dress as Laura! Pippi would be fun! I dressed as Glinda the Good Witch one year as a group costume thing, but it wasn’t authentic looking, so I have always wanted to dress as Glinda with a real looking costume. 🎃
Have a wonderful week. 💜✨

I dressed as Laura when I was about eight. I rode in the back of my uncle’s antique truck and threw candy in a parade. It was a lot of fun. My mom made the dress and hat. She used to sew all kinds of dresses for me. My daughter was Dorothy one year for Halloween. It would have been fun to dress like Glinda with her. I always wanted to do a family themed costume for Halloween. My kids were pirates one year and Star Wars Characters one year but we never all four dressed up together.
Thanks again for the gift!!!! I love it!

I haven’t seen much lately that I like on First to Read. This sounded ok. They used to have more YA books.
