What I Watched

Like most of the world, I watched the first episode of season 8 of Game of Thrones.  After a 20 month wait, I was not disappointed.

GOODREADS

I think this book is considered magical realism combined with historical fiction and for some crazy reason, it worked.  This story really has it all, love, sacrifice, death, adventure, hope, and even a mythical creature created from the earth.  Interwoven brilliantly, the story follows three Jewish women trying to survive during WWII. It is told honestly, lyrically, and beautifully and will make you question what it means to have a soul.  Some of the most breathtaking scenes involve a golem and a heron. If that doesn’t pique your interest, I don’t know what will.

GOODREADS

I TRIED SO HARD TO FINISH THIS BOOK. SO VERY, VERY, VERY, HARD! But after 200 pages I finally had to give up.  HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good book. It just means that it wasn’t a good book for me. I am not much of a fantasy reader.  There were tons of characters and setting and plots and I just didn’t have the patience to follow it. Also, the story moved too slow for me. I loved the parts about the dragons and the characters training to be dragon riders. I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing style and descriptions and the world she created.  If you enjoy reading the Game of Thrones series and the Lord of the Rings series and any other type of epic fantasy stories, then I truly believe you will love this book.

GOODREADS

Poe has vowed to annihilate the river raiders who robbed her of everything two years ago. But as she navigates the treacherous waters of the Serpentine and realizes there might be a traitor among her crew, she must also reckon with who she has become, who she wants to be, and the ways love can change and shape you. Even—and especially—when you think all is lost.

I received these from NetGalley.

Every autumn, all through high school, they’ve worked together at the best pumpkin patch in the whole wide world. (Not many people know that the best pumpkin patch in the whole wide world is in Omaha, Nebraska, but it definitely is.) They say good-bye every Halloween, and they’re reunited every September 1.

But this Halloween is different—Josiah and Deja are finally seniors, and this is their last season at the pumpkin patch. Their last shift together. Their last good-bye.

It’s funny, I love watching fantasy films and TV but can’t really stand reading them; I get too lost in the world building, character names, etc. Same with sci-fi actually.

Your reply to the Book Blogger Hop prompt/question made me chuckle; I’m with you!! Lol! XxXx

It amazes me how some bloggers have so many views and followers! But I just don’t have the time to read as many books. I can maybe read two a week. But I have enjoyed meeting many people through blogging.

How is Dig? I keep forgetting to look to see if Hoopla has it. 📚

I am so glad you posted about The World That We Knew! I was approved and I cannot wait to read it! 👍✨

Pumpkin Heads looks and sounds wonderful. I’ll have to add it to Goodreads. 🎃

I look at my stats to see how posts are doing, so I can discontinue the weak ones and try to figure out how to do more content (like the Harry Potter posts) which bring in more views. That way I don’t have to post as much. Ha ha. Lazy. 😏

Happy Easter. 🐇✨ Have a wonderful week! 🌞

So you are one of the very few who did not like The Priory of the Orange Tree? LOL I must confess that even with all the hype I did not want to read it so far.
