Thanks to the Polar Vortex this week, I had two days off of work (I work at a school). So, I was able to do a lot of reading and tv watching.  There may have been some napping and dog cuddling as well.

WHAT I WATCHED

Greg @GregsBookHaven has talked a lot about this show so when I was home two days in a row from the Polar Vortex, I started watching it.  I binged the whole first season in less than 2 days.  It is such a great show!

WHAT I READ THIS WEEK

Another great Jewell book!  I love how she writes such great characters.  I had no idea who the murderer was and there was a mouth dropping twist at the end that I literally said “No way!” out loud.  The cover for this book is perfect too.

I did not finish this book.  It just wasn’t for me.  It jumped around a lot chronologically and I was confused at what was going on.  However, I do believe a more patient person would really enjoy this book.  I did skip ahead and read the ending and based on how the book began, it was the perfect ending.  I know all that sounds crazy, but I don’t want you all to think it was a horrible book.  It was a “It’s me, not you” relationship.

I grew up watching Mr. Rogers on PBS so I am excited to check this book out.

GOODREADS

For the first time ever, the beloved songs from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood are collected here in a charmingly-illustrated treasury, sure to be cherished by adults who grew up with Mister Rogers, and a new generation of children alike.

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood had a revolutionary impact on children’s television, and on millions of children themselves. Through songs, puppets, and frank conversations, Mister Rogers instilled the values of kindness, patience, and self-esteem in his viewers, and most of all, taught children how loved they were, just by being themselves. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood re imagines the songs from the show as poetry, ranging from the iconic (“Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”) to the forgotten gems. The poem are funny, sweet, silly, and sincere, dealing with topics of difficult feelings, new siblings, everyday routines, imagination, and more. Perfect for bedtime, sing-along, or quiet time, this book of nostalgic and meaningful poetry is the perfect gift for every child–including the child in all of us.

I checked this out from my library.

GOODREADS

Two girls are forced into the woods at gunpoint. One runs for her life. One is left behind.

Twenty-eight years ago, Charlotte and Samantha Quinn’s happy small-town family life was torn apart by a terrifying attack on their family home. It left their mother dead. Twenty-eight years later, Charlotte has followed in her father’s footsteps to become a lawyer herself—the ideal good daughter. But when violence comes to Pikeville again, and a shocking tragedy leaves the whole town traumatized, Charlotte is plunged into a nightmare. Not only is she the first witness on the scene, but it’s a case that unleashes the terrible memories she’s spent so long trying to suppress–because the shocking truth about the crime that destroyed her family nearly thirty years ago won’t stay buried forever. Packed with twists and turns, brimming with emotion and heart, The Good Daughter is fiction at its most thrilling.

The Book Blogger Hop is put on by The Coffee Addicted Writer . There is a weekly prompt featuring a book related question.

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION IS SUBMITTED BY Angelica @ Paperback Princess .

This weeks prompt is…

Audio books vs Ebook? If the world stopped printing books which would you prefer between the two?

My answer…

That is a tough one!  I think I would chose audio books because I do enjoy listening to them in the car or while I cook.

I would pick ebooks only because I don’t do well with audio- I always drift off or lose track. I think it’s a me thing though. And I love the sound of that twist in Watching You!

    Happy weekend!

Oh I’m so glad you loved Travelers. I have bad news though- I just found out they canceled it after three seasons! Noooooo. I’m so mad at Netflix right now- I LOVE that show. But you should definitely keep watching, in spite of- there’s so much good stuff in seasons two and three.

I think one of my favorite moments in season one was all the senior citizens toting around assault rifles. that cracked me up.

I was afraid that would happen with Travelers. I just finished season 2. I had to laugh too when the seniors had the assault rifles. I think David is my favorite character. He cracks me up. Grace is pretty funny too.

I hope you are staying warm! I am glad you are enjoying The Travelers. I just got the chance to watch the most recent season. It’s a great show. The Princess and the Fangirl sounds like fun. I hope you are enjoying it! I love the Harry Potter books. I have them on audio, but have yet to listen to them. I thought that would be a great way to re-visit them. I really need to read more by Lisa Jewell. Watching You sounds so good! I hope you enjoy your new book! My brother was more into Mr. Rogers than I was, but we both grew up watching him too. I think you are the second person who has said audio over e-books. I enjoy audiobooks, but would have to go with e-books. They already dominate my reading format. I hope you have a great weekend!

I love Mr. Rogers. I’m so glad they continued his legacy on PBS with the Daniel Tiger shows. 💜✨

Funny enough… I’d pick ebooks because I don’t mind the American Joey text-to-speech voice for Kindle. He sounds very natural (unlike Sally who is annoying, ha ha) and many times, when I’ve bought an audiobook and the narrator is awful, I wish I had gotten the ebook. 😛,

Have a wonderful new week. 🌞
