Tell Me Tuesday

Tell Me Tuesday is a weekly blog feature put on by La La in the Library.  It is where we discuss what we have been, currently are, and will be reading.  What are you reading? Tell me.

WHAT I READ LAST

Unfortunately, I did not finish this book.  It was confusing and written very strangely.  I thought maybe it was me so I looked up some reviews and it looks like I was not the only one.  I didn’t expect another The Book Thief  which I think some of the readers were expecting.  I am curious if anyone else has read it.  If so, let me know your thoughts.

I absolutely loved this book! I am a sucker for road trip books.  The story was good and not cliche and I loved the idea of the characters trading up to make money through out their road trip.  Trading up is trading lesser value items with other people for more expensive items.  For example, CDs for a $50 gift card or a rubber band for a non working cell phone. The two main characters are each hiding an embarrassing family secret which is told through the book which kept me turning the pages.  Definitely a fun and entertaining read.

She knows she’s spent her whole life in the small beachside town of Belle Isle; she knows she’s never wanted anything more than to live a quiet life as a pillar of the community; she knows she’s never kept a secret in her life. Because we all know our mothers, don’t we?

But all that changes when a trip to the mall explodes into violence and Andrea suddenly sees a completely different side to Laura.

WHAT I AM READING NEXT

No idea!  I have a couple books on hold at the library that will hopefully come in soon so maybe I will read one of those.  Any suggestions?

I am dropping the platonic only part.  These are just going to be my favorite relationships in books.

Jane and Mr. Rochester (sigh)

There are so many great characters (species)  and friendships in this book.

I love the friendship of these kids.

I think everyone is rooting for Robin and Strike to become more than platonic.

Scout and her dad, Atticus.

The trio’s relationships through out the series is so great.  I also love Harry and Luna’s friendship.

Again, the title says it all.

Such a sweet book about Livy and her childhood friend, Bob.

I love this couple so much!
