CURRENTLY READING

crimes

I wasn’t going to read this because I went to the movie but I heard someone say on a podcast that the screenplay adds description of how different characters are feeling and thinking which you don’t necessarily see in the film.

Unfortunately, I did not finish this book.  It was confusing and written very strangely.  I thought maybe it was me so I looked up some reviews and it looks like I was not the only one.  I didn’t expect another The Book Thief  which I think some of the readers were expecting.  I am curious if anyone else has read it.  If so, let me know your thoughts.

geography

I absolutely loved this book! I am a sucker for road trip books.  The story was good and not cliche and I loved the idea of the characters trading up to make money through out their road trip.  Trading up is trading lesser value items with other people for more expensive items.  For example, CDs for a $50 gift card or a rubber band for a non working cell phone. The two main characters are each hiding an embarrassing family secret which is told through the book which kept me turning the pages.  Definitely a fun and entertaining read.

Andrea knows everything about her mother, Laura. She knows she’s spent her whole life in the small beachside town of Belle Isle; she knows she’s never wanted anything more than to live a quiet life as a pillar of the communit

y; she knows she’s never kept a secret in her life. Because we all know our mothers, don’t we?

But all that changes when a trip to the mall explodes into violence and Andrea suddenly sees a completely different side to Laura.

Grabbed this and the first book on Amazon through Kindle Unlimited.

Dr. P. J. Miller is back! Following his first installment, Cute Poodles, Sweet Old Ladies & Hugs, Dr. Miller has compiled another volume of truly awesome veterinary tales. Come along for the ride again as Dr. Miller delivers stories that feature colorful clients, endearing pets, his own beloved bulldog, and a hurricane. All the sassy hospital staff that readers came to love are back, including that special staff member who seems to work by her own particular standards of professionalism (you know the one).

The Book Blogger Hop is put on by The Coffee Addicted Writer . There is a weekly prompt featuring a book related question.

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION IS SUBMITTED BY  Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books

This weeks prompt is…

You meet an interesting person of the opposite sex at a club. Suddenly, they start acting as if they’re a character in a novel you’ve read, and they are firmly convinced that they ARE that character. First, which character is it, and second, how do you react?

My answer…

They think they are Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.  I ask him all kinds of questions about Westeros and tell him to take his rightful place on the throne.

I never thought about the screenplays having the stage directions. Interesting. I wasn’t going to read it either, but hmm… 📖

I am so happy you loved Geography, too! I love it when books have a message, but are also entertaining. 📗✨

Wow, kind of a strange Hop question this week. Ha ha. Good choice and answer, though. 👍✨

Have a wonderful new week. 💜✨

I’m debating about Crimes of Grimewald. I didn’t see the movie since I didn’t hear good things. Maybe the book but I didn’t like the play for The Cursed Child much.

Enjoy your reads! Anne – Books of My Heart
