avengers

Like most of the world, I went to see the new Avengers movie this week.  I thought it was fabulous.  Probably not my favorite Marvel movie but I liked having so many of the characters in one movie at the same time.  I don’t want to spoil anything but if you haven’t seen it, bring tissues!

everything

When I heard this book took place in the French country side, I knew I had to read it.  I am glad I did because this was a wonderful book.  Jessica’s husband, Adam, left her soon after her son, William, was born.  They have been fine without him but Jessica’s mom’s dying wish is to have William know his father. Jessica obeys and takes William to the French countryside to meet his father.  William and his father get to know each other and Jessica is relieved because she has a secret that could affect them both.  Even though this book is a bit predictable, it was well written and easy to read.  I look forward to reading more books by this author.

audiobook

I finished listening to this audio book.  I am loving Jim Dale’s interpretation of the characters.

nowthatyoumentionit

I loved the last book (Good Luck With That) I read by this author so much, that I decided to check this one out, literally from my local library.

Book Blurb

One step forward. Two steps back. The Tufts scholarship that put Nora Stuart on the path to becoming a Boston medical specialist was a step forward. Being hit by a car and then overhearing her boyfriend hit on another doctor when she thought she was dying? Two major steps back. Injured in more ways than one, Nora feels her carefully built life cracking at the edges. There’s only one place to land: home. But the tiny Maine community she left fifteen years ago doesn’t necessarily want her. At every turn, someone holds the prodigal daughter of Scupper Island responsible for small-town drama and big-time disappointments.

underdogs

I saw this book over at Barb @BookerTsFarm ‘s blog and had to have it! It was a read now on Netgalley. Hurry though, the archive date is May 8th!

bookbloggerhop

The Book Blogger Hop is put on by The Coffee Addicted Writer . There is a weekly prompt featuring a book related question.

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION IS SUBMITTED BY  Rubina @ Booklove

This weeks prompt is…

Do you ever feel like you have emerged better for reading a book?

My answer…

YES!!! That is one of the main reasons I read, to better myself. One of my favorite books is A Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow.  It is about self-harm, a subject I didn’t know much about but after reading her wonderful book, I feel like I can understand this horrible addiction.

Avengers was pretty awesome. ALL the characters! And so many great lines, too. Seeing some characters that have not interacted before doing so was neat. 🙂

Glad to hear You Me everything was good.

    Have a nice weekend 🙂

I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t seen Infinity War yet. I haven’t made plans for it yet but I’m also not feeling well so it’s not the best idea to go sit in a movie theater right now. I have seen some spoilers by accident though so I’m not sure I’d like the movie with what I know now. lol

Great answer! I also read to better myself as I love being able to pick up on more pieces of knowledge and gain new perspectives on a variety of subjects. I’ve actually really been wanting to read ‘Girl In Pieces’ so I’m definitely going to have to get around to it pretty soon.

Reading in general allows us to become better people, I think. Even if it’s only in small ways.

Feel free to check out my Book Blogger Hop answer if you wish!

I was also meant to watch Avengers this week but we just didn’t get around to it, will definitely be watching it this week, glad it was good.

How are you finding the HP audiobooks? I’ve only started getting into audiobooks, currently listening to Gemina whilst reading along. Do you do this?

I hope you get a chance to see Avengers. I want to see it again soon. I don’t usually follow along while listening to an audio book because I read so much faster and I am usually driving lol.

I need to break out my Potter audiobooks soon. I’m happy to hear you liked the narrator! 🎧

I think I have felt like a better person coming away from a book more often in my teens and twenties, but I think if I read more nonfiction now, that might come back. 📚

    Have a wonderful week. 💜
