If you love road trips and mystery then this is the book for you. Check out my review HERE ON GOODREADS.
A great read for Laura Ingalls Wilder fans. These are her letters to friends, family, and fans. My favorite were the letters in response to her young fans. Laura tried to write back to as many fans as she could. She was still responding to fan mail into her 80s even when it hurt her hands due to arthritis. I love what she wrote to many of her young fans in her letters.
“The way we live and your schools are much different now, so many changes have made living and learning easier. But the real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have, to be happy with simple pleasures and to be cheerful and have courage when things go wrong.”

Growing up on Long Island, Shelby Richmond is an ordinary girl until one night an extraordinary tragedy changes her fate. Her best friend’s future is destroyed in an accident, while Shelby walks away with the burden of guilt. Faithful is the story of a survivor, filled with emotion—from dark suffering to true happiness—a moving portrait of a young woman finding her way in the modern world. A fan of Chinese food, dogs, bookstores, and men she should stay away from, Shelby has to fight her way back to her own future. In New York City she finds a circle of lost and found souls—including an angel who’s been watching over her ever since that fateful icy night.
As most of you know, I foster senior dogs. After three months of fostering, Tank and Dash went to a different foster home. Two days later I went to the shelter to pick up 12 year old Trixie. Her owner passed away and long story short, Trixie ended up terrified and crying at the shelter so I went and got her. She is the sweetest dog! Understandably, Trixie has a bit of separation anxiety and has been my shadow but she is gaining confidence everyday.
I got a chance to visit Tank and Dash with Trixie. Here is a photo of them together.
