A great read for Laura Ingalls Wilder fans.  These are her letters to friends, family, and fans.  My favorite were the letters in response to her young fans.  Laura tried to write back to as many fans as she could.  She was still responding to fan mail into her 80s even when it hurt her hands due to arthritis.  I love what she wrote to many of her young fans in her letters.

“The way we live and your schools are much different now, so many changes have made living and learning easier.  But the real things haven’t changed.  It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have, to be happy with simple pleasures and to be cheerful and have courage when things go wrong.”

Goodreads Book Blurb

Her best friend’s future is destroyed in an accident, while Shelby walks away with the burden of guilt. Faithful is the story of a survivor, filled with emotion—from dark suffering to true happiness—a moving portrait of a young woman finding her way in the modern world. A fan of Chinese food, dogs, bookstores, and men she should stay away from, Shelby has to fight her way back to her own future. In New York City she finds a circle of lost and found souls—including an angel who’s been watching over her ever since that fateful icy night.
